Plot summary
The film begins with Nirupama (Pooja Kumar), a nuclear oncologist who is married to Vishwanathan (Kamal Haasan), a Kathak dance teacher in New York. The detective discovers that Vishwanathan is actually a Muslim named Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri, who was involved in a covert operation against Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. He also finds out that Wisam's former colleague Omar Qureshi (Rahul Bose) is planning a nuclear attack on New York with the help of a sleeper cell.
Nirupama confesses her affair to Wisam and asks for his forgiveness. He tells her his true identity and backstory, and they are attacked by Omar's men. Wisam manages to escape with Nirupama and his old friend Ashmita (Andrea Jeremiah), who is also an agent. They contact Colonel Jagannath (Shekhar Kapur), Wisam's mentor, who informs them that Omar has acquired a nuclear bomb from a rogue Russian scientist.
Wisam and his team track down Omar's location and infiltrate his hideout. They engage in a fierce gunfight with Omar and his men, while trying to defuse the bomb. Wisam manages to kill Omar and stop the bomb from detonating, but gets injured in the process. He is taken to a hospital, where he recovers and reunites with Nirupama.
