The Smily Experience in Assam (India) will be held from March 20 to 26 2024. Go to the Call for Applications

The call for students deadline is December 2nd 2023. By December 31th Smily Academy will select 40 international students under 30 years old who will attend the experience to tackle 3 challenges:

• droughts
• floods
• women empowerment.

The agenda of the week (March 20-26 2024) includes the arrival at the airport of Jorhat and the experience in Jorhat at the Forest Man Foundation and Kaziranga, one of the world's most important biodiversity and wildlife natural park. The experience is divided into nr. 4 learning experience phases: SOUL, connection with yourself; SOCIETY, connection with the others; SOIL, connection with the Planet and Smile, graduation, celebration and scale up. During the experience students will work to analyze the challenges; co-design a purpose driven innovation project work in cooperation with ITech organizations; transform the project work into business through the possible constitution of SPV, Special Purpose Vehicle. A mandatory assignment for each student to be accomplished during the year is training other 40 students. For this purpose, Smily Academy India will provide:

• Licence;
• A manual with all the information on how does Smily Academy works and its policies;
• The syllabus of the experience;
• The technical assistance for having access to the target countries; indigenous communities; challenges; facilitators; networking;
• A possible budget on the basis of the certified requests for arranging the experience.

Participation fee for students is: 700 Euro and includes. Early bird: we offer a 30% discount for students who apply by December 10 2023. The fee includes:

The Call for Applications

Smily Academy India is led by Rituraj Phukan, the President of the Indigenous People’s Climate Justice Forum; Head of Biodiversity of The Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project India and Director of Smily Academy India. Smily Academy India - Sustainable Mindset and Inner Level for Youth - is a scalable Indian impact accelerator matching international youth and cutting edge technologies with Indigenous and local communities’ challenges. Indeed, Indigenous People are the 5% of the world population protecting 85% of world biodiversity. The scalability consists in training 40 students for the first experience and 1,640 students for the second one, meaning creating 12 SPV the first time and almost 500 the second time.  The accelerator is a special program of the Indigenous People’s Climate Justice Forum. The main purpose of the Academy is to co-design innovative and inclusive regenerative development models and scale up challenge based and tailor made project works, creating jobs for young talents and supporting Indigenous.
